Pirates of the Caribbean region is old, now must be pirates… zombies newly truly ‘lit’. In The Pirate: Plague of the Dead, the game not only throws you into ordinary sea battles but also turns you into an authentic Voodoo master. The reviving legends like John Rackham or gang ‘Flying Gang’ from the dead to confront the Inquisitor brings a sense of power extremely different. This is where death is only the beginning for a more badass journey on the vast ocean—where you not only hunt gold, but also hunt even souls of those who block the way.
SUPERNATURAL COMMAND
When the first time experiencing the game, I truly was impressed by the way it incorporates eerie elements into traditional sandbox action gameplay. Instead of only upgrading dry ship stats, the summoning zombie captains brings top-tier ‘buffs’ and abilities to turn the match situation in an instant.
- Undead captain skills: Each captain revived possesses unique skills, helping you optimize gold amount earned or increase firepower strength of ship cannons.
- Ancient Kraken summon: One of the most classic trump cards is exactly the ability to call sea monster Kraken rising up from the seabed to crush enemy fleet.
- Historical ship collection: You can unlock and master iconic ships of the golden age, turning them into invincible fortresses.
LIMITLESS MARITIME EXPLORATION
The best point of the game is exactly the vast and extremely seamless open world—a true sense sandbox type where boundaries between sea areas are almost completely erased. I extremely hate the feeling of being enthusiastic hunting treasure that must stop wait load screen, and fortunately, Plague of the Dead has handled that extremely smoothly.
- Seamless world navigation: You can freely surf waves through mapped sea areas or venture into wild lands without at all being interrupted pace.
- Dynamic weather effects: Day-night system and storms are simulated extremely realistically, forcing players must truly be tense to steer the ship overcome fierce waves.
- Deep economic system: The game allows you to transform into a real merchant when can loot, trade and build own financial empire at outposts.
