1998: The Toll Keeper Story will recreate for you the fascinating and thrilling stories revolving around the battles for survival, maternal love and moral factors during the period of the country’s collapse and decline. The game is inspired by one of the darkest chapters in Indonesian history – a place that everyone wants to forget and no one wants to recall it.
Players play as Dewi to start a life of hard work, she starts from the smallest jobs such as a toll booth inspector, the task is to check vehicles, verify documents and decide who is the toll booth.
Besides supporting the hard life of her best friend, Dewi also has to raise her unborn child, she needs to try to earn enough money to cover life, take care of expenses such as: rent, food … or even medical expenses for her unborn child.
- Make Tough Choices: Players are forced to make the toughest choices, people passing through the toll booth without enough money or papers to pass… Will you let them through? It’s time to make the tough decision, either break the rules or turn your back on those poor people.
- Protests erupt: As usual, thousands of protesters or government officials are trying to pass through your toll booth. Your decisions may indirectly cause a protest to break out. Will the coup go as planned? It all depends on your decisions!
